Woman Stabbed in Head During Argument on Gray Avenue; Suspect Arrested

UTICA, NY — On July 20, 2025, Utica Police and Fire crews responded to a reported stabbing on the 1100 block of Lenox Avenue.
When they arrived, they met a female victim who said she had been on the 1200 block of Gray Avenue when a heated argument with another woman turned violent. During the confrontation, the victim was stabbed in the head and fled the scene.
She was transported to Wynn Hospital by Utica Fire, where it was confirmed her injuries were not life-threatening.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division, and after further follow-up, police identified the suspect.
On July 23, Athya Sullivan, 35, of Utica, was arrested and charged with:
• Assault in the 2nd Degree
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree
