Woman Arrested After Alleged Theft at New Hartford Target

New Hartford, NY — On Saturday, June 7, 2025, around 1:30 p.m., New Hartford Police responded to a theft in progress at the Target store in Sangertown Square Mall.
According to New Hartford Police, while officers were en route, Target loss prevention staff reported observing a group of individuals acting suspiciously inside the store. Upon arrival, police were informed that one individual had fled the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise.
Officers quickly located the suspect, who attempted to flee on foot. Following a brief pursuit, the suspect identified as Nichole Slattery, 29, of Utica, was taken into custody.
Police determined that the total value of the stolen merchandise amounted to $1,002.65.
Slattery was arrested and charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree (PL 155.30), a Class E felony.
She was processed at the New Hartford Police Department and released on an appearance ticket. Slattery is scheduled to appear in New Hartford Town Court on June 26.
