Victim Expected to Recover After Utica Stabbing; Suspect Arrested

UTICA, N.Y. — Utica police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred last week.
On August 10, 2025, at around 4:40 p.m., Utica Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of Walker Street and Kemble Street for a reported stabbing. Officers found a male victim with a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to Wynn Hospital by Utica Fire Department personnel and is expected to make a full recovery.
Following an investigation by the Utica Police Criminal Investigations Division, 30-year-old Deronn Pool of Utica was located and charged on August 14 with Attempted Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.
