Vehicle Fire Spreads, Damages Two Homes on St. Agnes Street in Utica

UTICA, NY — July 19, 2025 — A vehicle caught fire Saturday night in a residential driveway on the 1600 block of St. Agnes Street, sending flames dangerously close to nearby homes.



The incident occurred around 8:56 p.m. between James and Pleasant Streets. According to emergency officials, the fire spread from the original vehicle to a second one and caused damage to two adjacent homes.



Both structures had melted siding, but firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to them.



Utica police officers were on the scene, alerting and evacuating residents from surrounding houses as a precaution while also attempting to extinguish the fire before fire crews arrived.



There have been no reports of injuries as of this time.



A Utica Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire. Further details will be provided as new information becomes available.
