Utica Woman Arrested After Swinging Golf Club in South Street Dispute

UTICA, NY — On the evening of June 25, 2026, a heated argument on South Street took a dangerous turn when Utica Police responded to a report of a woman threatening another with a golf club.
According to Utica Police, a female victim stated she was approached by an unknown woman who began yelling at her without provocation. The situation quickly escalated when the suspect allegedly threatened to hit her with a golf club and then swung it in her direction. Fortunately, the victim dodged the attack and left the area to avoid further confrontation.
Officers quickly arrived on the scene and obtained a description of the suspect. Within minutes, they located a woman nearby matching the description. She was identified as 41-year-old Gabrielle Camp, who currently has no known address. Camp was arrested on the spot and taken to the Utica Police Department for processing.
Due to a prior conviction for menacing within the last decade, Camp’s charges were elevated to felony status. The case was then handed over to the Criminal Investigations Division.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Camp was charged with:
• Menacing in the First Degree
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
