UTICA, N.Y. — A 25-year-old New York City man wanted in connection with a Brooklyn homicide was arrested Thursday in Utica, authorities announced.
According to law enforcement, Daishaughn Hodge, wanted for a murder that occurred on August 1, 2025, was located at a residence on the 900 block of Downer Avenue on August 14. A joint operation involving the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force, Utica Police, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, and NYPD warrants detectives led to his arrest.
Officers say they recovered a loaded .45-caliber handgun hidden in Hodge’s waistband during a search following the arrest.
During transport to the Utica Police Department, Hodge reportedly kicked the back door of the patrol vehicle repeatedly, eventually loosening it and causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Hodge was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. He remains in custody as authorities continue the investigation.
