Two Syracuse Women Arrested for String of Thefts in New Hartford

New Hartford, N.Y. — May 13, 2025 – Two women from Syracuse were arrested Monday afternoon by New Hartford Police Investigators in connection to a series of retail thefts that occurred in October 2024.
Janaya Dixon, 20, and Zerihya Felder, 21, are accused of working together to steal merchandise from three New Hartford retailers — Victoria’s Secret, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Ulta Beauty — between October 14 and October 21, 2024. Police say the total value of stolen goods amounted to $5,333.88.
Investigators identified the suspects following an ongoing investigation into the thefts. Dixon was located and taken into custody in Jefferson County on unrelated charges before being transferred to New Hartford authorities. Felder was already in custody on separate, unrelated charges.
Both women were charged with the following:
▪︎ Three counts of Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree (PL 155.30) – a felony
▪︎ One count of Petit Larceny (PL 155.25) – a misdemeanor
Dixon and Felder were arraigned Monday afternoon in the Town of New Hartford Court and are currently being held in custody.
