Two Juveniles Caught on Camera After Bleecker Street Break-In

UTICA, NY — In the early hours of July 9, 2025, Utica Police responded to a burglary alarm at a convenience store on the 600 block of Bleecker Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front glass door shattered and the store’s cash register missing.

Store employees soon arrived and provided surveillance footage, which revealed two young suspects smashing the window and making off with stolen items. Due to their apparent age, the case was quickly assigned to the Juvenile Aid Division.

Investigators, already familiar with the individuals, were able to identify both suspects after reviewing the video. The two juveniles were later located. One, just 11 years old, was too young to face criminal charges under current law. The second suspect, age 13, was charged with burglary in the third degree and issued an appearance ticket to Family Court and Probation.

Due to their ages, the identities of the suspects are being withheld.
