Two Injured in Utica Fight; Stabbing Victim Found on Cottage Place

UTICA, NY — Around 7:44 p.m. Thursday, Utica Police responded to reports of a fight near the intersection of Genesee Street and Cottage Place. Officers quickly arrived at a residence on Cottage Place near State Street, where they found a man believed to be involved in the altercation suffering from stab wounds.
Police discovered the man suffering from stab wounds to both his arm and head. Utica Fire and Rescue responded to treat the injuries. The victim, who was conscious and alert at the scene, was transported to Wynn Hospital for further care.
Meanwhile, security personnel at Munson discovered a knife on the ground nearby, believed to be connected to the incident.
Just minutes later, officers located a second individual who had facial lacerations near the intersection of South Street and Steuben Street. That person was also transported by ambulance to Wynn Hospital.
Both individuals are currently receiving treatment. More details will be shared as they become available.
