Tragic Loss: Utica Police Investigate Death of 6-Year-Old Child

UTICA, NY — A heartbreaking incident unfolded early Wednesday morning as emergency crews responded to a call involving an unresponsive child on the city’s east side.
At approximately 7:25 a.m. on July 2nd, Utica Police and Fire units were dispatched to a residence at 1600 Armory Drive. Upon arrival, Utica Fire personnel immediately began lifesaving efforts on a 6-year-old boy and rushed the boy to Wynn Hospital for further care. Despite continued emergency treatment by hospital staff, the child was tragically pronounced dead.
The Utica Police Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
