Oriskany Falls, NY — A routine traffic stop in the Village of Oriskany Falls turned into a drug bust Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2:42 PM on July 18, a Patrol Deputy from the Waterville Field Office pulled over a vehicle on Broad Street. The driver, identified as 46-year-old James Winfield of Waterville, was found to be operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.
As deputies investigated further, they discovered Winfield was in possession of both Suboxone and Methamphetamine.
He was taken into custody and hit with several charges, including:
• Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd and 3rd degrees
• Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree
Winfield was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket for the charges, along with multiple traffic citations. Winfield is expected to appear in the Town of Augusta Court at a later date.
