Stabbing at Utica Corner Store Sends One to Hospital, Clerk Taken Into Custody

UTICA, NY — July 23, 2025 — Emergency crews rushed to 122 Eagle Street in Utica Wednesday afternoon following a reported stabbing at a neighborhood corner store. Utica Police arrived at the intersection of Eagle and Elm Streets around 3:30 p.m., where a caller told dispatchers he had been stabbed by a friend.



Officers found the victim, a 58-year-old man, suffering from an abdominal stab wound. He was quickly transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment. His condition has not yet been released.



The suspect, identified as a clerk at the store, was seen being led out of the establishment in handcuffs and placed into a waiting patrol car.



The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be shared as they become available.
