Sister Stabs Sister in Domestic Dispute on Ash Street

UTICA, NY — Around 10:00 PM on July 17, 2025, Utica Police and Fire units responded to a violent domestic incident on the 1100 block of Ash Street.

When they arrived, they found a woman with a deep cut on her arm, reportedly caused by her own sister during an argument involving a knife. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to Wynn Hospital.

Monaya Blanco, 26, of Utica, was taken into custody at the scene and later charged by the Criminal Investigations Division with:

• Assault in the 2nd Degree

• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree
