Police Respond to Report of Man With Gun at St. Luke’s Campus

NEW HARTFORD, NY — July 9, 2025 — A tense afternoon unfolded on the MVHS St. Luke’s Hospital campus after a 911 call reported a man with a gun, prompting a heavy response from New Hartford Police around 12:45 p.m. today.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched after a caller claimed a man appeared to be concealing a firearm on the hospital grounds. The report led to an immediate and visible law enforcement presence near the rehabilitation unit, drawing attention and concern from hospital staff, patients, and visitors alike.

Police were able to locate a man matching the description provided, but after a thorough search of both the individual and the surrounding area, no weapon was found.
