Pennsylvania Man Arrested with Unregistered Handgun in Oriskany Falls

Oriskany Falls, NY — A late-night domestic dispute at a local laundromat led to a felony weapons charge in Oriskany Falls. According to the Oneida County Sheriff Office, deputies responded around 12:30 a.m. on July 22 to reports of a verbal altercation. During their investigation, they discovered that 26-year-old William Hoch of Biglerville, Pennsylvania was carrying an unregistered handgun, which is illegal under New York State law.
Hoch, who does not hold a New York pistol permit, was arrested on the scene and taken to the Sheriff's Office in Oriskany. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Class E felony. After being processed by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit, Hoch was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Augusta Town Court next month.
