Front Door Removed, $10K Stolen — Months-Long Burglary Case Ends in Arrest

UTICA, NY — Back on January 13, 2025, Utica Police were called to a residence on the 900 block of Bleecker Street after a bizarre and bold burglary. The suspect had removed the entire front door of an apartment and made off with nearly $10,000 in cash and property.

The case was handed to the Criminal Investigations Division, and after months of digging, a suspect was identified.

On July 14, 2025, Sanela Dizdarevic, 50, of Utica, was arrested and charged with:

• Burglary in the 2nd Degree

• Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree
