Early Morning Fire Damages Home on Watson Place


Utica, NY – At approximately 4:12 a.m. Monday, multiple 911 callers reported a house fire in the 800 block of Watson Place.



When crews from the Utica Fire Department arrived on scene, they encountered heavy flames coming from the rear of the structure. The fire had already engulfed the first floor and was rapidly spreading to the second floor and attic.



Due to the intensity of the fire, a second alarm was called. Firefighters worked quickly and were able to bring the fire under control within approximately 40 minutes.



No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Utica Fire Department Marshals Office.
