Early Morning Break-In at Rizzo’s Market Under Investigation

ROME, NY — In the early hours of Thursday, June 26, 2025, a burglary alarm sent officers from the Rome Police Department responding to Rizzo’s Market on South James Street.
When officers arrived at the store around 3:45 a.m., they found the front door window smashed in. A quick check of the scene revealed that someone had broken in and made off with an unknown amount of lottery tickets.
Police believe the suspect acted alone, but the investigation is still in its early stages.
