E-Bike Catches Fire Inside Home on Waverly Place, Fire Quickly Contained

Utica, NY – June 17, 2025 – Fire crews rushed to 34 Waverly Place around 7:16 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with smoke visible from the second floor of the home. Entering the residence, they quickly located the source: an e-bike burning in the living room.

Thanks to the quick response, the fire was contained to the e-bike and a small section of the floor, preventing further damage to the home. No injuries were reported.

A fire marshal was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. The situation was brought under control shortly after crews arrived.
