Authorities Investigating Report of Child Inappropriately Touched at Deerfield Wilderness Park

DEERFIELD, N.Y. — The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center is actively investigating a report involving an unknown adult male who allegedly inappropriately touched a young child at Deerfield Wilderness Park, located at 6329 Walker Road in the Town of Deerfield.
According to Chief Deputy Derrick O’Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, the incident is believed to have occurred during the early evening hours of June 11, 2025, while the child was playing in the park.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Community members, particularly in the northern area of the Town of Deerfield, are urged to remain vigilant and attentive to the safety of their children while outdoors.
Anyone who observes suspicious activity in the area is asked to call 911 immediately.
