Several Struck by Vehicle in East Utica Amid Afternoon Dispute

UPDATE: A 17-year-old female intentionally drove her vehicle directly into a crowd, striking multiple people. Through the investigation, it was determined that four people were struck by the vehicle. Thankfully, their injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.



Through the investigation, the identity of the driver was developed, and she and the vehicle involved were ultimately located at an address in Frankfort.



After obtaining all relevant medical paperwork and securing statements from witnesses and victims, the 17-year-old female was charged with:



- Attempted assault in the first degree x2


- Assault in the second degree x2


- Attempted assault in the second degree


- Reckless endangerment in the first degree


- Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree



Additional charges are likely as the investigation proceeds.



UTICA, NY – Several people were injured Wednesday afternoon in East Utica after a vehicle reportedly struck them following a dispute, leading to a quick response from Utica Police and Emergency Personnel.



Around 3:15 p.m., police and fire rescue crews arrived in the 400 block of Blandina Street following multiple reports that several individuals had been intentionally hit by a vehicle. Initial reports indicated that three individuals were transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment. Details on the severity of their injuries were not immediately available.



Shortly after the incident, police intercepted a white car believed to be connected to the incident at the intersection of Mohawk and Rutger Streets.



The incident follows a separate call approximately 45 minutes earlier, when officers were dispatched to the area near Blandina and Second Streets in response to reports of a fight. As of Wednesday evening, authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are related.
