Robbery Suspect Arrested in Connection with Burger King Hold-Up in Rome

ROME, NY – June 16, 2025 — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery that occurred last week at a Burger King in Rome.



According to the Rome Police Department, officers responded to a report of a robbery at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9, at the Burger King located at 106 S. Madison Street. Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee who reported that a male suspect entered the restaurant, displayed a knife, and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported.



Following an investigation, police arrested 41-year-old Paul B. Williamson of Utica on Monday, June 16. He was taken into custody by members of the Rome Police Detective Division and Street Crimes Unit.



Williamson has been charged with Robbery in the First Degree, a class B felony. He was processed at Rome Police Headquarters and transported to the Oneida County Jail for arraignment.
