Deerfield Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Young Child at Local Park

Deerfield, NY – A 30-year-old Deerfield man has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a young boy at a local park, according to Chief Deputy Derrick O'Meara, Director of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
The investigation began on the evening of June 11, 2025, after patrol units from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbing report from Deerfield Wilderness Park on Walker Road. Authorities were told that an unknown man had inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 11 while the child was playing in the park.
The case was quickly turned over to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center and assigned to Investigator Mark Chrysler. Throughout the investigation, deputies were assisted by the Sheriff’s Office ATV Units, New York State Police K-9 Units, and the State Police Forensic Investigation Unit.
After nearly two weeks of investigation, authorities identified the suspect as Anthony Getti, 30, of Deerfield. Getti was taken into custody without incident at his home on June 27, 2025.
He has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D Felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor. Following arraignment at CAP Court, Getti was remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
An order of protection has been issued on behalf of the child. Support services and counseling have been made available to the victim through the Child Advocacy Center.
